About the Festival
Auch dieses Jahr wollen wir wieder zur Besserung der Verhältnisse auf Jamaika beitragen, indem wir das Help Jamaica Charity Festival organisieren! Der gesamte Gewinn wird dem HELP Jamaica e. V.! gespendet. Dieser Verein sammelt Gelder, um in den bedürftigen Vierteln von Jamaika den kostenlosen Zugang zu Bildungsangeboten zu ermöglichen. Aktuell errichtet der Verein ein Bildungcenter in der Community von Cassava Piece/ Kingston. Um dieses Projekt mit einer kräftigen Finanzspritze zu unterstützen haben wir uns große Mühe gegeben ein fantastisches Festival auf die Beine zu stellen. Neben den grossartigen Künstlern und leckerem Essen gibt es ein buntes Angbot für Kinder und Familien. Ausserdem werden sich weitere Hilfsorganisationen auf unserem Basar vorstellen. Diesen tollen Tag werden wir am Abend mit einer dicken Aftershow Party abschliessen! Wir freuen uns auf euch! Kulturverein BasementSound e.V.
The 2nd edition of our HELP Jamaica! Charity Festival will be held on August 14th 2010 in Osnabrück. Last year was a full success with more than 1.200 guests who donated for the good cause and enjoyed a nice festival full of vibes in front of the ‘Schlossgarten’. This year we have the opportunity to move inside the ‘Schlossgarten’ which is an exclusive festival/event location in an extraordinary environment. The perfect location for our splendid line up as we feature live on stage: Nosliw, Martin Zobel, Berlin Boom Orchestra, Cornadoor, Natty Flo, Volkanikman, King Juli and a very very special guest from Jamaica……. The after show party will feature Soundquake Sound alongside the Basement Sound.If you life nearby Osnabrück, Germany make sure to come with your friends enjoy a great festival line up, Jamaican and African food, percussion workshops and face-painting for the kids as well as African theater or a dance performance by Stainless Dancers (Spanish Town/Jamaica). The Festival will further provide a welcoming kids and family area, a chillout-cocktail area, NGO info booths, a bazar and last but not least of course information about HELP Jamaica!, our work/projects and aims.
